19th Century Italian Sorrento Inlaid Mosaic Playing Card Case

Wonderful and rare 19th century Italian olive wood and various fruit woods and hard woods playing card case. Intricate inlaid designs of cards on front and back, a diamond border and floral arabesques below. With exquisite mosaic running completely around the sides, signature workmanship of Sorrento. The olive wood interior with an an old export stamp, 'Made in Italy'. Made with a divider for carrying two decks of playing cards. The perfect, and unique gift for the card shark in your life.  Circa 1890.

Wear consistent with age and use. Wear and minor nicks to the surface, in remarkable condition for for an inlaid piece of this age.
