A set of two 19th century Italian Grand Tour Siena Marble desk models.  One of the Temple of Vespasian, the other of the Foro Romano.  Circa 1890's.

During the 19th century Grand Tour travels to the sights of ancient Europe were an integral part of a gentleman's education.  Such models were brought back as mementos of Greece and Rome and are highly collectible.
