Rouge Griotte Marble- Top Gueridon Center Table with Gilt Bronze Fittings
A handsome Empire period gueridon, its generous round top cut from richly figured rouge griotte marble — a deep wine-red stone shot through with veining and pale fossil inclusions that catch the light across its polished surface.
The top is raised on three tapering mahogany columns, each finished with gilt bronze capitals and bases in a stylized acanthus motif, joined below by a shaped tripartite platform stretcher that centers on a turned mahogany finial. The form is quintessentially Empire: architectural, symmetrical, and elevated by the contrast of dark mahogany against warm gilt ormolu.
