19th Century Italian Drawing of an Archangel in Red Chalk

A good size Italian Baroque style red chalk drawing of a winged angel, possibly Saint Michael the Archangel. The angel is shown in Roman garb and sandals, wearing a helmet, holding a key in his uplifted hand and a key and sword in the other. Part of an inscription, 'Cristo' on the lower left and an old repair contemporary with the drawing on the right lower corner. 19th century, possibly earlier. Laid down on gray paper. Unframed.

Wear consistent with age and use. Possibly originally from a larger sheet. Old repair to lower right corner. Corners with wear and folds typical of a drawing this age.
