A pair of French Regence style photophores with polished brass bases and etched hurricane shades decorated with classic colonial diamond and star motif.   Circa 1950's.

This model of Regence hurricane lamps, created in the 18th century to illuminate gardens and terraces, was later reinterpreted and popularized by decorators & tastemakers like David Hicks, Hubert de Givenchy, Ralph Lauren or collectors Jayne Wrightsman and Mica Ertegun.
