Regency Mahogany and Gilt Bronze Side Table

A very fine Continental Regency period mahogany lift-top dressing table with high quality bronze d'ore legs and mounts. The columns with capitals decorated with palm leaves and papyrus flowers showing the Egyptian influence that became popular in the Regency and Empire periods after Napoleon's expeditions to Egypt in the early 19th century. Made originally as a vanity, this table will make a singular side table, a stunning addition to any room, antique or modern.   Circa 1815.

Fully restored, the stretcher upholstered in leather, as a foot rest.
