Late 19th / Early 20th Century half hull model by Gil Smith for one of his Long Island catboats designed for the shallow waters of Great South and Shinnecock Bays.  His uniquely graceful and very fast designs often beat those of his contemporary, Nathanial Herreshoff.  Between 1876 - 1930, he built over 400 boats, never using power tools.  His wife sewed all the sails on a foot-powered sewing machine.  His half hull models are quite rare.
