Harvey Probber Pair Ebonized Mahogany of Gondola Chairs, Model 1053

Harvey Probber (1922–1981) was an American furniture designer known for his elegant mid-century modern designs. Model 1053 gondola chairs feature a distinctive curved back with dark stained mahogany frames and upholstered seats and backs in Schumacher Faux Bois Moire weave silk jacquard fabric. No maker's mark observed on either chair. c. 1960
