Pair of 19th Century British eglomise ( reverse painting on glass ) portraits of 2 Royal Navy Ships : HMS Foudroyant & HMS Royal Albert, both featuring three views of the same ship, in original bird's eye maple frames. Foudroyant, an 80-gun ship launched in March 1798, served as Horatio Nelson's flagship from June 1799 - end of June 1800. Royal Albert, a 121-gun three deck ship, was launched in 1854 at Woodwich Dockyard. Originally designed as a sailing ship, she was converted to screw propulsion while under construction.
