Italian carved and polychrome figure of an angel holding a torchère wearing a gilded robe. Beautifully realized face and hair, this lovely early carving had been mounted as a lamp. Great piece of Baroque sculpture that could be rewired as a lamp, used as singular decorative piece or as its original purpose, as a candleholder.

Circa 1700

Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Some losses to surface expected with age. A crack to top rear of the torchere.
