19th century folk art box, with burl wood veneer and mother of pearl and fruit wood inlay. The surface decorated with geometric, diamond and star motifs. The raised top with a banded border, the body of the box on an integral flared base. An interior three section tray lifts out to reveal storage underneath. A beautiful box for storage of valuables, trinkets or just as a wonderful decoration on it's own.  Circa 1850.  USA.
