19th Century English Regency Burl Wood Veneer Box with Ebonized Ball Feet

A handsome and beautifully made English Regency burl wood veneered box. The thick burl veneer covering the four sides and top, resting on four ebonized ball feet .

A rich honey patina that only comes with age and handling. Inset ebony escutcheon, working key. The top with the elegant detail of a raised beveled edge.

A fine desk top box for valuables or correspondence, or wonderful decorative piece placed anywhere. Nice scale and proportions. Circa 1825.

Old one inch repair to the veneer, right side front. Minor chips to some corners. Top lifts a bit on left corner. All expected with a piece this age.
