Large scale Japanese ceramic storage jar with beautiful green drip glaze. It takes real skill to fire a jar of this size. The variegated glaze, predominantly shades of dark and lighter green, is dripped over a deep chocolate brown base. This jar has real presence, it can be placed outdoors in the garden or on a patio as a planter or decorative urn. Or indoors as a stunning vase or decorative addition to any interior, modern or antique. Circa 1880.
