14.5" h x 17.25" w x 1" d

A set of 19 botanical photogravures by Karl Blossfeldt (German, b. 1914 - d. 1932), "Urformen der Kunst", First Edition 1929, Berlin. Hung together, these make a very impressive and contemporary wall display. Available in smaller groups or individually at $595.00 each. Blossfeldt was a well-known artist, teacher, sculptor and photographer; best known for his closeup photographs of plant life.

Blossfeldt believed that 'The plant must be valued as a totally artistic and architectural structure.' Modern and organically beautiful, his photographs of plants, flowers and seed heads are as appealing today as they were when they were first introduced to the public in his first landmark book, "Urformen der Kunst", (Art Forms in Nature), 1929.

It was his firm belief that only through the close study of the intrinsic beauty present in natural forms that contemporary art would find its true direction.

Can be sold individually for $ 595.00  EACH
