Cypriot Slip-Glazed Terracotta Wine Jug, Bichrome Ware with Horizontal Band Decoration and Concentric Circle Motifs

Cypriot Wine Jug. c. 750-600 BCE. Slip-glazed terracotta. The jug features a rounded globular body with a single looped handle, a wide flared mouth, and a flat footed base. Decoration consists of multiple horizontal painted bands in red and dark brown/black encircling the body, with concentric circle motifs painted on the shoulder. Typical of Cypriot Geometric to early Archaic period bichrome ceramic tradition.
