Beautiful hand painted Japanese porcelain tray depicting Iris plants and a butterfly in greens, blues, yellows and soft pinks framed in black with gilt highlights. As is typical of the Japanese, this lovely good sized decorative tray is both useful object and work of art. It makes a pair together with the following listing. The main surface surrounded by a raised scalloped border, with raised bracket feet on each of the four corners. Stamped mark on the reverse.   Early 20th century.
