The artist was admitted to compete at the career-launching Salon de Paris from 1878. He received medals in 1889 and 1900. The French State acquired some of his wining works to display in various museums. He was commissioned for murals by numerous private and public institutions. His contribution to the Arts earned him the French high distinction of the “Légion d’Honneur.” Rosset-Granger gained success as an elegant portrait and genre scene painter with highly polished works. His academic style used with virtuosity the dramatic light and shade effects (or Chiaro-obscuro) sculpting his models for a vivid and sensual rendering. The artist was represented by leading galleries like the “Galerie Charpentier” in Paris and the Gallery Thurber Fine Arts of Chicago, as well as collected by respected art sponsors like Henry Vasnier, director of the Pommery Champagne, whose collection he donated to the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Reims.
