Ercole Barovier “Pezzato” (Dappled) Table Lamp in Glass and Brass — Barovier & Toso, Murano, Italy, c. 1956
A stunning example of mid-century Murano craftsmanship, this rare table lamp was designed by Ercole Barovier (1889–1974) for the renowned Venetian glasshouse Barovier & Toso. The conical glass body is executed in Barovier’s celebrated Pezzato (“dappled”) technique, featuring bold alternating bands of smoky charcoal and clear glass that create a striking, graphic effect. The base is finished in warm brass, grounding the piece with a refined material contrast.
