Federico Munari was part of the generation of Italian designers who, in the postwar decades, reimagined the sofa as sculpture — letting upholstered form curve and flow rather than sit in rigid right angles.

This example is reupholstered in a soft ivory bouclé-style fabric, its asymmetrical silhouette rising into a high rolled arm on one end before sweeping low along a serpentine back. The result reads equally well as a conversation piece or a quiet, organic anchor for a living room.
