"The Duke of Wellington Reviewing the Troops Before the Battle of Waterloo" Rare Early 19th Century Printed Cotton made to commemorate the victory over Napoleon on June 18, 1815.  Newly framed, the British copperplate printed chintz is in two colors on buff depicting the parade of soldiers past his staff on horseback with the background of a sea of tents, landmark hills and the Ferme d'Hougoumont - the walled chateau which served as advanced defensible position of the Anglo-allied army coalition led by the duke of Wellington.  Some unobtrusive light staining commensurate with age, otherwise excellent condition.
